Daily Quickie: Daiso & Saizen Goodies
Daily Quickie will be a short tag on the title which I'll use for blog entries about food I'm snacking at home, work or anywhere.
Last month, malls were unbelievably jam-packed with so many people -- those hanging out with friends, eating out and doing last-minute holiday shopping. I won't be complaining though 'cause I also joined the crowd in Trinoma. My agenda was to stock up on Japanese goodies I can binge eat while waiting for Christmas and the new year to pass.
For that particular trip, I visited Japan Home Centre. I bought packs of Japanese Mixed Nuts, as well as tried some new goodies -- a pack of Chocolate French Cookies, EDO Pack Black Almond Chocolates, and OKF Ginger and Citron teas.
The Chocolate French Cookies and EDO Pack Black Almond Chocolates were nice to binge eat. They weren't too sweet so you'll definitely be tempted to eat a lot. The OKF Ginger tea tasted like real ginger, quite sweet yet spicy. The flavor was a little too much for me though. Good thing, my dad liked it. He finished the whole bottle in just one sitting! The Citron tea on the other hand, was zesty but a little bland for my taste. It was refreshing as a cold drink though.
Aside from grabbing some Daiso goodies at Japan Home Centre, I also paid Saizen a visit. I grabbed some Meiji Black Chocolates, Heart-Shaped Fresh Creamy Pie, Blueberry Cookies, along with some impulsively-shopped personal items like a face massager, lip gloss and cute containers.
I really love Meiji Black Chocolates that I can finish a bar in a single sitting. The Heart-Shaped Fresh Creamy Pie was nothing too special though. It tastes like your ordinary cream biscuit with sugar coating. The Blueberry Cookies on the other hand, was quite good. It tasted a little similar but slightly richer than Dewberry Blueberry and Cream cookies. However, I don't think I'll be repurchasing one soon. For a pack with 10 small packlets of blueberry cookies, I find P85 quite expensive.
How about you? Have you bought anything from any Japanese store recently?

I always see those EDO pack and mixed nuts at Japan Home Center near our place. Might buy this tomorrow dalahin ko sa trip namin papunta pangasinan. Kaya lang madami akong kaagaw nyan kasi mahilig din sa sweets yung mga kapatid ko. thanks for sharing!

I've been trying to find good Ginger Tea. But is it too strong that's why you didn't like it?

I was curious with one of Saizen's drinks... It was a bottle that had a marble as its cap... IKR, unique!
ReplyDeleteHowever, it tasted like day old Sprite...
Oh well... Maybe I'll try one of those treats you bought :)

ReplyDeleteYour blog makes me crave all the time! Anyway, I'm not a big fan of other kinds of cookies unless it's the buttered type or chocolate or white chip cookie. Fixated much? LOL. Why naman you didn't like the Ginger tea? I love everything tea. Although my bestfriend swears on any hot tea. She screams at the thought of having the hot tea along with bibingka. Matabang daw. I have tried Ginger before okay naman. Maybe matapang? Have you tried adding water or ice?
