Acacia Hotel Manila: A Filipino 5-Star Luxury Hotel

Being a northie, I haven't had the chance to visit most parts of the southern Metro. However, thanks to Ms. Mae Ilagan and Ms. Marla Mendoza, I was able to experience the comfort, luxury and Filipino hospitality the south can offer by spending a weekend staycation at Acacia Hotel Manila.

Located at Filinvest Alabang, Acacia Hotel Manila is a 6-month old five star luxury hotel boasting of being 100% Filipino. Owned by the Corporate Holdings Management, Inc. (CHMI) through its subsidiary CHMI Hotels and Residences, Inc., and being managed by Acacia Grove Hotels, Acacia Hotel Manila promises to provide nothing short of the world-renowned Pinoy hospitality.

Acacia Hotel Manila

The beau and I took a long ride from the north going to Alabang. We left our homes a few minutes after 12PM, yet we managed to get to the south by 4PM. We got a little lost along the way.. But, the exhaustion and frustration were instantly replaced with awe as we reached Acacia Hotel Manila's modern and stylish lobby.

Deviating from other hotels' lobby, Acacia Hotel Manila's does not only serve as a reception and lounge for guests, but also as a casual dining restaurant with a Pan-Asian a la carte menu. But for weary travelers like ourselves, we saw The Lobby as its first purpose -- a perfect space to chill and relax after a north-to-south journey under the scorching heat of the sun.

At the front desk, the friendly Ms. Cristina and Mr. Carlos didn't only warmly welcome us, but even escorted us to our room.

We were fortunate to be given a Junior Suite, a chic 43-square meter room with a living area, executive desk, marbled bathroom and a super comfy king-sized bed.

This lovely and very new Junior Suite also has Wi-Fi internet access (which is fast), a fully stocked mini bar, and a tea and coffee making equipment.

Complimentary Fruit Platter

After refreshing ourselves a bit, and enjoying this complimentary fruit platter, the beau and I decided to explore more of Acacia Hotel Manila.

The Deluxe Room

Mr. Carlos was very kind to entertain our questions and show us Acacia Hotel Manila's Deluxe Room, 34-square meter of cozy space like our room, minus the living area. Guests can also choose between a king-sized bed or twin beds.

The Function Rooms

Acacia Hotel Manila also prides itself for having 5 function rooms to provide the perfect venue for business events, gatherings or even parties. We got to see a third of the Grand Acacia Ballroom, a majestic function room which can fit up to 400 people.

We also got to see 2 of the function rooms perfect for small meetings, Kamali and Oliva.

The Samanea

At the 3rd floor is Acacia Hotel Manila's own garden, the Samanea. This spot is very peaceful and has always been used as a location for photoshoots, romantic dates, and even marriage proposals.

Samanea Acacia Hotel Manila's Samanea

It was quite dark already when we first visited the Samanea, but Ms. Marla was kind enough to have our breakfast arranged here.

The Swimming Pool

Located at the other side of the 3rd floor is Acacia Hotel Manila's swimming pool and jacuzzi.

Swimming is not really my forte so I just left the beau playing in the pool while I relax and destress at the jacuzzi. (Sorry no photo of the jacuzzi. I was so excited to take a dip that I forgot to snap even a single shot.) Sir Jobert, the pool attendant, was not only kind and courteous in assisting us with the controls of the jacuzzi, but he was also very amusing and entertaining that we chatted with him for hours!

Fitness and Spa Services

The hotel's fitness center and spa are currently under construction. However, they can hook you up to Gold's Gym for free. There's also a 24-hour in-room massage service available which I gladly took advantage of. And the massage was just incredible! It liven up my tired muscles and limbs.

Nighttime and the Next Day

After the tour, the beau and I headed to Acaci, the hotel's signature coffee shop offering breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet where Mr. Lem and a set of nice staff made sure we're comfortable and well-fed.

After a gastronomical meal, the beau and I headed to our room and these surprised us.

A nice view of the Filinvest night lights and a plate of cake for midnight snack

Like any other people having a staycation, we just enjoyed watching the television to our hearts' content while laying on the super soft and comfortable bed.

After getting some zzz's and prepping ourselves, we went to the Samanea for our breakfast. Our server for the day, Jayson, was very courteous even initiating to have our tables moved to the shade when the sun began to rise over our spot. However, I didn't quite mind the sun as it perfectly lit the beautiful Samanea.

Breakfast at Samanea Morning Samanea

For the food, I had the Filipino Breakfast (P430) -- a set of sirloin beef tapa, garlic fried rice, fried eggs, fresh fruits, chilled mango juice and coffee (which I gave to the beau).

The beau on the other hand, enjoyed Steak and Eggs (P460) -- grilled 6oz. US Angus striploin with scrambled eggs, golden hash brown and tomato.

After the hearty breakfast, the beau and I enjoyed the lovely and cozy room, took a dip at the pool and jacuzzi, and headed our way to The Lobby where we had a sumptuous lunch.

The Lobby Al Fresco Area

By 2PM, it was time to bid the hotel and its staff good bye. However, instead of being sad, we were happy because we know that this will not be our last time to see Acacia Hotel Manila. With amazing rooms, amenities and staff as friendly, as polite and as hospitable as the ones we've crossed paths with in this Filipino luxury hotel, we can say with full conviction that we shall return!

Thank You Cupcakes from Acacia Hotel Thank You Cupcakes

Before we separated paths with this lovely and highly recommended hotel, we were given thank you cupcakes which we very much appreciated. To our friends at Acacia Hotel Manila, thank you so much for this sweet gesture! You have truly made us feel special and we will forever remember this wonderful stay.

  18. So this is why you said you'd be in Alabang. But really, it took four hours? Wow! I sometimes go to the North and I don't think I've ever experienced such a long ride. And I feel like such a loser! I pass by this place almost everyday, and I've never been inside. I do hear a lot of good things about the hotel though.

I love hotel buffets, so I hope I get to try their buffet out soon. :)

  52. I am really familiar with the South as I hailed from there. Good thing, you have multiple visits in the south already. There are numerous sites to enjoy in the south, you just have to explore it. And Alabang is fast becoming a Makati business district especially in the Filinvest area. Soon, more high rise buildings will abound the place. Will visit this hotel definitely.
