Photography: A Peek Through The Doll's Lens
Back in February, I joined a blogging and photography challenge by IntramurosManila.Asia. And although I've been very passionate with photography, I didn't expect to win the Best Photo Award, especially with the Federation of Philippine Photographers Foundation as judges. However, with quite a lot of luck on my side, I got to bag not only the bragging rights but also a 5-session Basic Photography Class at Photo World Manila.
All photos are shot using Candice + EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS kit lens.
Candice, my trusty Canon EOS 550D, has been with me for over a year now. Although I already did a lot of shooting -- food, fashion and some scenery, I actually learned more about my prized best friend. I got to understand and start tweaking the metering modes. I finally got over my fear of using the built-in flash. I met great professional photographers, as well as hobbyists like myself. And above all, I gained more motivation to continue shooting.
Shallow Depth-of-Field and Motion Freeze
Motion Blur (Model: Grace, my lil sis)
Portraiture (Model: Tin) and Still-Life
I remember a few months back, I was unsure of what photography style I want to have. However, after the fun and very enriching photography class, I didn't only learn more about Candice, but also more about myself. Although I'll still be shooting a lot of sumptuous food, I also want to venture more into portraiture and still-life photography.
To IntramurosManila.Asia and to all the lecturers at Photo World Manila, thank you so much for giving me a wonderful opportunity to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for the art of photography. To my friends and classmates from Batch 10, thank you for the worthwhile company. It was fun spending 5 consecutive Sundays together. Let's keep shooting, and see you in the Advanced Class!

I feel so inept. I own a DSLR (just an entry level one) and yet I haven't fully-explored its features yet. I should really get over the hassle of having to lug it around everytime I go out and feel like snapping pictures.:)
