Daily Quickie: Minute Burger's Big Time Sandwiches
Daily Quickie is a short tag on the title which I use for blog entries about food I'm snacking at home, work or anywhere.
Merienda or afternoon snack has played a very important part in my childhood. I remember back in the day, I would always rush home from school just to enjoy a nice merienda session while watching my favorite anime shows on local channels. Most of our merienda items are either home-cooked or bought from fast food chains, one of which is from our neighboring Minute Burger about four short streets away from home.
As years passed by, we haven't really gotten to order again from Minute Burger. However, just last week, both my sis and I suddenly craved for burgers. And since we didn't want to drive all the way to SM North just for a quick fix, we decided to head to the nearest Minute Burger. Much to our surprise, Minute Burger now offers most of their burgers for buy 1 take 1, so we decided to try their both of their Big Time Sandwiches.
Unlike what we were used to, their Big Time Sandwiches come in boxes instead of their signature plastic burger wrap. And yes, we're well aware that every box contains a pair of burgers. We wanted to try both flavors -- Black Pepper (P49) and Bacon Cheese (P55).
Both my sis and I found it hard to believe that a pair of their Black Pepper Burger is just under fifty bucks. And while it wasn't as attractive as the other burgers which cost over a hundred apiece, it sure was tasty and quite filling. Personally, I prefer this Black Pepper Burger a bit over the other variant as the burger patty is more flavorful. I think if they tone down the grease from the buns, this can become even better. Also, while I think they missed adding in the onions, I can't complain 'cause this is already good for its price.
Again, for a little over fifty bucks, a pair of Bacon Cheese Burger is already a sweet deal. Compared to the previous variant, this burger is definitely closer to the Minute Burger items we used to have back in the day. Personally, I would've preferred if they didn't add in the coleslaw to the ensemble. However, it wasn't all that noticeable anyway. Even my lil sis who dislikes veggies didn't mind the bed of coleslaw in her burger.
So far, I can say that ordering again from Minute Burger has rekindled our childhood memories. And while I honestly feel like the burgers from before are bigger and look more presentable, I can't complain with their sweet buy 1 take 1 offer for the price.
Anyway, stay safe and happy everyone. I can totally feel that it's almost Christmas with all the heavy traffic around. Haha! Oh, and if you haven't yet, join my Burger Project Taft and Chubby Chicken blog anniversary giveaways. It's about to end on the 24th, with the announcement set on the 25th. Happy holidays!

ReplyDeleteWhat I also like about their store is they operate 24/7. Some early mornings when I crave for comfort food I just go out our house for a few hundred meters to satisfy my hunger. Would be nice if they also serve some fries.

ReplyDeletenakakamiss naman ang Minute Burger, sayang i don't see any branch dito sa Bulacan. it's also good to know na environment conscious na rin sila sa packaging.
ReplyDeleteMinute Burger is the best tasting Buy 1, Take 1 Burger in town (For me! hehe!) Their burger is the best!
ReplyDeletelast week lang ako nakakain sa minute burger and compared sa burger machine which i had for merienda two weeks ago ( habang naghahanap ng work lol) i can honeslty say mas masarap ang minute. black pepper is really a gold mine.
ReplyDeleteBacon Cheese Burger is good and I agree with the "less grease" comment. Other than that, I think it' a steal foe 55 pesos for two burgers. It's about time Minute Burger put something new in their menu. Now, I have a new option aside from Chicken Time :D
