Greenwich Party Size Pizzas + Blogger Apprentice 2012!
Last year was definitely a very fruitful year for me. It was when I started to get more serious and blogged relentlessly. Actually, I even went beyond my comfort zone and joined the Search for the Blogger Apprentice 2012 by Blogger Manila for the experience. And I think if there were a reality TV show for bloggers, I might as well have joined too!
Now, before December 2012 drew to a close, Jonel Uy of Blogger Manila and Gadget Gambit threw a thanksgiving party at Greenwich in SM North EDSA and at the same time announced the results for the Blogger Apprentice 2012. But before I share with you the juicy tidbits from the awarding, let me first show you the dishes we had that day.
Since we were a group of no less than twenty, a few regular-sized pizzas won't be enough. So to make the party livelier, Greenwich served us their 15" Party Size Pizzas which were cut in squares by default, plus some other food items to get us all going.
First to have caught my eye was the 7 Cheese Overload (P549) which looked oh-so-good on the pan. As a big cheese lover, I'm really digging the fact that there are not just 4 kinds of cheese on this pizza, but 7 -- mozzarella, cheddar, edam, parmesan, cream cheese, blue cheese and special cheese. And with all these gooey, creamy and cheesy goodness, you'll definitely get your needed cheese fix with every bite. I know I got mine!
Another pizza we had was the Ultimate Hawaiian Overload (P549) which is double the fun and goodness of the classic Hawaiian favorite. Yes, that's double the meat, double the cheese and double the pineapples! And although Hawaiian isn't exactly my type of a pizza flavor, our table agreed that this is indeed a very good rendition from Greenwich.
Next up was the Greenwich Special Overload (P549) which is packed with 13 kinds of mouthwatering toppings -- beef, bacon, pepperoni, salami, mushrooms, olives, red and green bell peppers, onions, garlic, pineapples, mozzarella and cheddar cheese. Now that's a real topping overload! And while I'm still all head over heels for the cheesylicious pizza, there's no denying that this flavor gives off the greatest value for money.
Last among the pizzas we had was the All Meat & Cheese Overload (P549) which is the most savory and "macho" among the pizzas we had for the day. This meaty ensemble has generous amount of Italian sausage, ground beef, pepperoni, salami, bacon, parmesan and mozzarella cheese perfect for the carnivores, myself included.
We also got to try the Crispy-Glazed Chicken (Barkada Bucket P604) aside from the really enjoyable pizzas. These 8 pieces of deep-fried then glazed chicken pieces were moist and succulent on the inside and crispy and tasty on the outside. I guess this is Greenwich's take on the Korean-style fried chicken which has been booming like crazy this past year. Personally though, the glaze was a little too sweet for my preference. However, I think it's perfect for the general public's sweet-loving palates.
Next item we had was the Jumbo Crunchy Chicken (Barkada Bucket P549) served with gravy. Similar to the glazed chicken, these pieces which came by 8's per serving were juicy and succulent with a crispy skin to boot. They were generally tasty without being oily too. I just needed a cup of hot steamed rice and I'll be completely contented.
To complete our meal, we had the Lasagna Supreme (Half Pan P379; Full Pan P749) which is a creamy medley of tasty cheddar, mozzarella and special cheese, imported beef and noodles, and rich flavorful tomato and cream sauce. Even as a non-lasagna fan, this premium pasta from Greenwich got me hooked! It was really, really good.
I have to admit that after this trip to Greenwich, I left feeling pretty impressed. Some few years ago, I had a not-so-good experience with their pizzas and pastas. However, I can definitely see that Greenwich had improved a whole lot since then. Their flavors are at par with more expensive pizza chains, yet their prices remain to be one of the most affordable in the market. Truly, there are still good yet inexpensive dining places around.
On a different note, I am proud to be have been part of the Blogger Apprentice 2012. It might have not went as how Jonel ideally planned it to be, but it sure still is one adventure in my blogging life. Cheers to future Blogger Apprentices by Blogger Manila!
Congratulations to the Top 6 Contenders: Athena Tria, Alwin Alguirre, Christian Melanie Lee, Camille Co, Noks Sosa, and myself. Congratulations too to my two fellow Blogger Apprentices 2012. And of course, congratulations to Jonel Uy for a successful 2012!

My first plate of Greenwich goodies. Of course, I had second and third helpings. |

ReplyDeleteOne word : *drool*
ReplyDeleteI love the way Greenwich reinvent themselves constantly with pizza innovations. Okay, well you can't actually call pizza flavors an innovation but I used to think Greenwich was just a 'sosyal' version of 3M pizza haha. And now they constantly come up with new flavors and new styles that they are getting ahead of the pack (what pack) when it comes to fastfood pizza.
ReplyDeletePizza is my all time favorite comfort food. It has like a million kinds of cheese in there. Like god! :) ♥
ReplyDeletei love greenwich!!
