Jack Frost Premium Ice Cream: New Flavors + Giveaway #9!

Last year, I was lucky to get the chance to sample the homemade premium creations from Jack Frost Premium Ice Cream. And while I was already impressed by the flavors I got to try back then, the man behind this sweet and creative brand, Mr. Bonner Dytoc has once again concocted ice cream blends that I know I just couldn't resist.

If you've read my Top 10 Picks for 2012, you'd know how much I love Jack Frost. So when I was invited to snag a preview of two new flavors that will brighten up our new year, how could I pass up the opportunity? With the beau in tow, we visited Mr. Dytoc's home in Quezon City (which is also the pick-up point for Jack Frost Premium Ice Cream) where he personally welcomed us and served us his new ice cream creations.

Silky Amber (Pint P200; Half-Gallon P700; Gallon P1,300)

The first between the two new flavors we got to try was the Silky Amber. Although I initially didn't get what flavor it was just by hearing the name, I totally figured it out when I had my first generous spoonful. Bearing a delicate amber hue, this ice cream flavor is actually Jack Frost's version of salted caramel with a bonus of butter in the mix. It was sweet and rich, exploding with intense butter caramel flavor. I loved how this tasted as it can easily rival other ice cream and gelato stores carrying the salted caramel flavor. However, I personally find the blend too strong to finish off one whole pint by myself.

Wintermelon Delight (Pint P200; Half-Gallon P700; Gallon P1,300)

The other flavor we had was the Wintermelon Delight (WMD) which is a really unique ice cream blend infused with the creamy and subtle sweetness of the wintermelon fruit commonly used in Taiwan. Just one spoonful, and I already fell in love! This ice cream flavor reminded me strongly of Gong Cha's Milk Wintermelon Tea which never fails to give me foodgasms. The ice cream counterpart though is of course, creamier. And despite the beau not being a big fan of milk teas, even the wintermelon-flavored ones, he admitted that this is by far one of the most delicious ice cream flavors he has ever had. I can't argue with that! I downed a whole pint all by myself, and I was still craving for more.
