Cynos Argan Oil Thairapy Review + Giveaway!

Aside from being a foodie, I'm also a kikay. Just look at the name of my blog and you can already figure it out. So for today, let me interrupt our regular food blog programming for something health and beauty related, a review of Cynos Argan Oil Thairapy products.

Being somewhat a meanie to my hair, I was happy to receive products from Cynos Argan Oil as it meant getting my locks pampered. For background, I had my hair digipermed late last year after over 2 years of constant coloring. And believe it or not, I didn't use any specialized shampoos, conditioners and treatment oils as I was stingy like that. So after a few months, I had to suffer the consequences -- dry and very brittle hair.

This summer, I had my permed hair chopped. But instead of letting healthy hair regrow, I had it colored again. And as if the damage wasn't enough, I've even found myself constantly heat-styling my hair. So yeah, you can just imagine what kind of hell my locks have gone through all these years. Good thing Cynos Argan Oil came to the rescue.

What exactly is Argan Oil?

Based from Mr. Wiki, Argan oil comes from kernels of the Argan tree found in Morocco. It has been known as a miracle oil for its multitude of uses -- moisturizes the skin, treats wrinkled or scaly dry skin, helps ease rheumatism and healing of burns, and nourishes the hair. Actually, I've even heard that Argan oil can help lighten annoying stretch marks!

Going back to Cynos Argan Oil Thairapy, I received a set with the brand's shampoo and conditioner (both Argan oil-infused) and of course, the Argan oil itself.

Argan Oil Moisture Vitality Shampoo (240ml)

This shampoo is said to be ultra moisturizing as it's enriched with Vitamin E, Omega 3 and Omega 9 in Argan oil. And yes, I can definitely attest to that. My hair has been really dry and brittle after I dyed it blonde, but using this shampoo helped revitalized my hair, making it soft and silky again and less prone to breakage and even hairfall. It also doesn't strip away hair color, so this is a good product for dry, damaged and colored hair.

Argan Oil Moisture Vitality Conditioner (240ml)

Pampering the hair isn't complete without a conditioner. As the shampoo cleanses while moisturizing, this conditioner further nourishes the hair and adds the much-needed shine to make the locks healthy inside and out. Like the shampoo, this is also safe for colored and chemical-treated hair, so this is just the conditioner I direly needed. And yes, I can't stress enough how in love I am with this conditioner (actually, more than the shampoo).

Aside from the benefits of keeping my hair soft, smooth, healthy and manageable, another thing I like about the Argan Oil Moisture Vitality Shampoo & Conditioner is their scent. Unlike commercial hair care brands, these have a gentle, powdery scent. My little sis has been using my shampoo and conditioner too and loved how her hair smells after washing. She said, and I quote, "parang amoy baby!"

Morocco Argan Oil (100ml)

Healthier hair and softer skin thanks to Morocco Argan Oil

The most intriguing product for me in the set I was given was the Morocco Argan Oil itself. Known as the liquid gold, this Argan oil is a luxurious pampering treatment oil which can be used for the hair, face and body. I've tried it on my hair, and it definitely added more moisture and shine. However, I love the Argan oil more for my face and skin. I put a few drops on my face at night, and it leaves my skin supple even after washing the next day! I also have dry skin on my arms and legs, and this helped keep them moisturized.

Now, I've read on the internet that Argan oil can also help make stretch marks fade. I don't know how true it is, but my little sis and I are already testing it. Give us about a month and I'll update this blog post if it really helps in that department.

To wrap things up, I can definitely say with conviction that Cynos Argan Oil Thairapy products are worth checking out. Unlike other brands that just do away with marketing, Cynos definitely provides what it promises. I guess the only downside is the price and availability. These products don't come too cheap, as quality products rarely do. They're also available only at salons, like Bench Fix, Mary Pauline, Tinette & Co., Jimmy Lu Salon, Creation by Lourd Salon, Louis Phillip Kee Salon and Vivere Salon, to name a few.

Prices differ from salon to salon, but I think the shampoo and conditioner are about P800 to P900 each. The Argan oil on the other hand, is about P1,200 or more per 100ml.
