Daily Quickie: Magnum Gold 2 for P100 at SM Supermarkets!

Remember my post when I first tried the Selecta Magnum ice cream bar? I know, it's been so long since then. Mind you though, I've had quite a lot of Selecta Magnum bars since that post. But while I skipped blogging about them (since what I usually have is my favorite almond variant), I now bring you a quickie about Magnum's latest offering.
Yup, it's the newest Magnum Gold!
This golden ice cream bar is available almost anywhere ever since its bonggang launch last February 9. However, if you don't want to shell out about P60 or more to try this, then better head on to the nearest SM Supermarket, SM Hypermarket or Savemore, and get a good deal since they currently have a promo for the new Magnum Gold.
You can get 2 Magnum Gold ice cream bars for only P100 if you buy from any SM Supermarket, SM Hypermarket or Savemore. And this is not only for Metro Manila or Luzon! It's ongoing nationwide! So make sure to Grab the Gold from your favorite SM market until February 28! Even I made sure I wouldn't miss trying out the gold for less.
Just yesterday, I dropped by the SM Supermarket at SM Megamall to finally get me some of that famous Magnum Gold. The ice cream bars will come bundled by twos. Of course, there are also unbundled Magnum Gold bars available for P55 each.
And now, for the moment of truth...
The Magnum Gold, like most of its sibling variants, has vanilla ice cream, plus swirls of salted caramel. It's encased in not one, but two layers (the outer layer is gold, while the inner is just chocolate) of cracking Belgian chocolate making biting off the coating more enjoyable. Unlike the other Magnum flavors (except the almond one), the Magnum Gold is surprisingly delicate. It's sweet but uncloying, with hints of salted caramel. Yup, the salted caramel isn't really "out there" but more of peeking through with every mouthful.
Take note though that the delicateness only comes off when the Magnum Gold is eaten straight from the freezer or chiller. I tried eating it after being left on the table for a few minutes, and boy was it rich and sweet! So take your pick on how you want your gold! ;)
