Blog Anniversary Giveaway #10: Duchess Lash Bar & Spa

One of the things I've learned to accept over the past few years, is how I'll never get to have long, beautiful lashes. And no, I'm not insecure nor even a little too conscious about it. I was born with short, thin and stick-straight top lashes. My bottom lashes are even worse. They're almost non-existent! Haha! And I've accepted that fact, I never gave a damn... Not until I came across Duchess Lash Bar and Spa in Banawe, Quezon City.

Located at the second floor of Banawe Terraces, the same building with Wan Chai Tea House, stands Duchess Lash Bar and Spa, a new haven for people like me who were not blessed with naturally beautiful lashes. Actually, even those gifted in the lash department can also hang out at this dainty, pink-themed pampering and prettifying joint to add more flair to their tantalizers, or try other services Duchess offers, like nail care, waxing, massage, hair services and their new lipo slim and body sculpt treatments.

It was my first time at Duchess Lash Bar and Spa, but I've never felt more at home. The light pink walls, black and hot pink chairs, and pretty accents here and there screamed a pampering session to be excited about! And I sure was!

After snapping some shots, I was brought to the lash extension application area which had super reclined chairs and a fluffy hot pink pillow. It was almost as if I'm laying to sleep. After getting settled, the ultimate pampering and prettifying session started!

For about two hours, I was treated to a princess-worthy pampering. I enjoyed getting my walkers scrubbed, massaged and moisturized, while my nails were getting cleansed, buffed and polished, and my lashes were being luscious-ified. How bongga! Almost every part of me was getting attention, and I was definitely spoiled!

So I didn't have actual photos of the whole process, but here's a picture similar to what I experienced while getting an eyelash extension. A sheet was placed under the eyes and my lids were taped shut. This is probably to make sure I won't be opening my eyes while the lash extensions are being glued. Anyway, the whole process took longer than I expected, but I didn't feel any discomfort. Actually, if not for the foot spa and mani-pedi, I think I would've fallen asleep! Yup, the lash extension application was that comfortable!

Okay, I'll get the most obvious out of the way first.

I don't know what brand of polish was used, but it was a pretty teal color perfect for summer. Very refreshing to the eyes! With flawless application too. By the way, I'm really bad with having my nails done at salons 'cause I ALWAYS do something that accidentally ruins it before it sets. But I now found the best way to keep it smear-free... Get lash extensions while having my nails done. Ha! That should keep me from being clumsy me!

Now, for the great reveal... *dun dun duuuuuuuun*

See how thick, lush and tantalizing my post-Duchess lashes are? It may not come off as too obvious for people who don't give a damn about beauty, but they'd still feel like something's different about you. Like, you look prettier for some unknown reason.

Oh, and lash extensions at Duchess Lash Bar and Spa come in range of lengths and thickness to best compliment your facial features. Meaning, your extensions can be "individually-styled" to suit and accentuate your natural lashes, lash line and eye shape.

These Drama Queen lash extensions by Duchess Lash Bar and Spa definitely made me look and feel more beautiful. No need to put (and suffer from) false eyelashes, no need to curl 'em up, and no need for mascaras! Actually, I didn't even feel the need to put on eyeliner anymore since the base of the lashes already look dark.

Hope there'll be extensions for the bottom lashes too. I badly need it!

I'm definitely in love with my now-full set of tantalizers courtesy of Duchess! Even with just tinted moisturizer or some powder, the lash extensions can make you feel ready to go out there. And while I won't be getting lash extensions every few weeks, I'll definitely have them on for special occasions, and from Duchess Lash Bar and Spa!

What are eyelash extensions?
Lash extensions are semi-permanent synthetic extensions, individually glued to a single natural eyelash.

How long does the application take?
Depending on how thick you want them, application may last from 45 minutes to an hour per set/eye.

How long do they last?
Approximately 2 to 4 weeks, depending on how you take care of them. Apart from the extensions falling because of rubbing, they'll shed naturally as your natural lashes fall off.

How do I care for the lash extensions?
Avoid getting the lashes wet for the first 12 hours. Make sure not to use a sauna (or expose yourself to high humidity) for the first 48 hours. Try not to get any product on them, and do not curl! Basically, the less you touch them the longer they will last.
