Blog Upgrade: Out with the Old, In with the New
Happy happy 2015 everyone! Hope you had a merry and safe holiday celebration! ✿
In other news... I'm not sure if you've already noticed, but my blog has been revamped! Yay! After about a week of sleepless nights tweaking and testing this new blog design, I'm finally satisfied with how it turned out, despite some still-existing hiccups. It's mobile-responsive, so please give it a try. I calibrated it using my Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 though, so if it looks a little messy on your device, I'd suggest to use the landscape orientation.
Anyway, I decided to make this more personal-ish post just to make things official -- to mark the end of the older The Purple Doll and the coming of a new, (hopefully) better one. 'Cause not only did I change the blog design and fonts, but there will also be some changes with the content as well. So please hear me on this, will 'ya?
I know The Purple Doll has been a restaurant review blog with lifestyle posts injected from time to time. However, as I found myself intolerant (or allergic, if you will) to more types of food, I doubt that I'll be able to churn out as many food and restaurant reviews this coming year. After going through a phase of topical steroid withdrawal (steroid-induced eczema), I've also decided to start being stricter with my diet.
Don't worry though 'cause I'll still be posting restaurant reviews, though limited, and even recipes of what I cook for myself. So I really hope you can still stick around if you've been an avid reader of my reviews. And thank you so much for being here! o(〃^á´—^〃)o
"What the heck?!" I hope you're not thinking this, 'cause I've already had this thought when I was contemplating on whether to really put up those tags on the blog's navigation menu.
I know I may not be the most knowledgeable person when it comes to beauty and fashion, but these two are things that I also enjoy apart from eating good food. Hair and especially makeup have been passions of mine way before I got into food blogging. And I think it's now a good time to finally share with you the things that I love.
Fashion on the other hand, is not something I was truly enthusiastic about until later this year. If you've read my eczema story, then you probably have an idea how I turned to dressing up to make me feel more confident amidst my ugly, flaring skin. And while I'm not in that much itch and pain anymore, though my skin's still uncomfortable, I found myself really excited with putting together outfits and taking OOTDs. Vanity alert! I know, I know.
Since this is already a personal post, let me be totally honest now. I've been losing enthusiasm with blogging from time to time, and I think it doesn't only show with the declining post count per month, but also with my writing.
For the past year or so, I've been so set on finishing my backlog and not really trying to find the fun in blogging anymore. But after the Why I've Been MIA post, I somehow got back the motivation to continue blogging. This new blog design and content upgrade have also helped freshen up the slate and restart my gears, so I'm more than excited for the blogging years to come. It totally feels like I'm starting a new blog. Oh, the excitement! ヽ(*⌒∇⌒*)ノ
I'm so sorry to my manly guy readers 'cause y'all probably cringing right now. I hope even with these changes you can still find something interesting on my blog.
But to my fellow dolls, I hope these blog upgrades will be something you can enjoy. I know I've named this blog The Purple Doll, and I just want to finally, really embody it.
I may have been called a food blogger, but today, I want to just be a blogger who shares all the good things she enjoys. Whether it be food, beauty, fashion, travel and everything in between. No more labels 'cause I can't even tell what kind of a blogger I am now. Chopsuey?
To my long-time readers, casual visitors, and even first-time stumblers, thank you so much for being here. I wish you'll enjoy my content, or at least find something helpful. (๑>ᴗ<๑) And if you're also needing a fresh new start like I did, I hope you can find that and get restarted soon. It's January of 2015 -- the perfect time to get it kickin' and rollin'. o(^ᴗ~)y
Happy new year, everyone! Cheers to a better, happier and more colorful 2015 to all of us!
