Make Me Blush: Nail Spa and Beauty Lounge in Quezon City

Last year was quite a trying time for me. Apart from feeling aesthetically lacking, I wasn't fully functional. There were things I, my hands specifically, can't do because of a bad case of hand eczema. I couldn't help with house chores, wash my clothes, let alone wash my own hair, even if I wanted to. Of course, getting my nails done is also out of the question.

It was really a challenging three months. So when my hands started to get better, I knew I also had to treat it better. Use but not abuse it, be wary of things (especially chemicals) I touch, stop washing it to death, and let it enjoy a primping and pampering session. That's why when I had the chance to check out Make Me Blush Nail Spa and Beauty Lounge at Hemady Square in Quezon City, I just had to jump right in. It was high time to say goodbye to my awful chipped manicure and say hello to colorful and better-looking nails!

Make Me Blush Nail Spa and Beauty Lounge might be a little out of the hustle and bustle of the metro, but it's actually why I'd visit it. When getting my nails done in more easy-to-go-to nail salons, especially ones in major malls, I can't help but feel tense. I know it should be a relaxing "me" time, but I'd usually want the session to get over with. But it's definitely not the case at Make Me Blush.

Aside from the location that gives more privacy, the place itself is an eye-candy. Colorful and dainty, with pretty fiesta banners and beautiful caged lighting fixtures. I'm sure no one wouldn't want to enjoy a relaxing nail primping and pampering session here.

Aside from being a nail salon, Make Me Blush also offers other services like hair and make-up, as well as waxing and massage. So for those who want to have a total make-over from hair and skin, down to nails, then this can be a great destination.

Even with three different areas, I'm really digging how Make Me Blush Nail Spa and Beauty Lounge uses pastels, soft colors and floral to decorate their space with. It feels so dainty, and I'm sure a session of sparty-ing would be very fitting at Make Me Blush.

Our Manicure and Pedicure Experience

For the three months I had hand (and feet) eczema, my nails were left with chipped polish, along with an unsightly set of dry and ugly cuticles. So when my hands were finally ready for a manicure, you can just imagine how excited and happy I was!

Instead of regular hand and foot soak though, I brought a small pack of epsom salt which I requested the staff to use. And I'm really glad they allowed it and understood my situation. I wasn't sure yet if my hands and feet can already tolerate soap, gels, oils, etc.

I'm not sure if you can relate, but whenever I'm in nail salons, I usually have a hard time choosing which color to put on my nails. This visit to Make Me Blush wasn't any different. It took me a while to pick the polishes I really, really like. And after going back and forth between a few of my choices, I finally settled for these colors.

I've always loved teal for my finger nails, but the pretty, shimmery pink polish for the accent nail really made me love the whole feel of my manicure. This is actually my first time to have an accent nail as I tend to become super OC when I do my own nails. But, I'm sure this wouldn't be the first and last. In all honestly, this made me feel less OC when it comes to my nail color, which is a very good thing. (I sometimes hate my OCD!)

This light gray or gainsboro shade looks so pretty, don't you think? I usually go with dark or bright colors for my toe nails. But after getting this beautiful lighter shade, I think I became a convert! It looks so clean, and also goes really well with the nude sandals I was wearing.

My lil sis, on the other hand, went for a more contrasting set of nail colors. She had a pretty, glittery pink for most of her finger nails, and a deep jet black for her accent nail. My OCD really kicks in whenever I see her manicure. But meh, to each her own!

I adore her choice of polish for the toes though. The grape color is already so pretty, but the specks of gold glitter give it more of an oomph! I didn't get to take a photo of the polish on her feet. But I assure you, it was really pretty! Just take a look at that polish bottle!

Overall, my lil sis and I are highly satisfied with our mani-padi session at Make Me Blush. Very nice ambiance with very good service. We just loved how skillful and friendly the nail technicians were. They also didn't mind how long we browsed the swatches, and went back and forth with picking a nail color. Haha! So if you ask us, "Will you be coming back?" The answer's, definitely! Make Me Blush Nail Spa and Beauty Salon is not only (somehow) near our place, but is also an absolute haven for a primping and pampering session with price tags that are very reasonable, and won't put a dent on your wallet.
