OOTD: Almost a Woman
Sharing OOTDs has been fun for me. However, I feel like I'm always caught wearing cutesy, girly, dolly outfits. So I thought, why not change it up a bit? I've been wanting to experiment with my personal style, so I hope this post channels it... Even just a little bit.
If you haven't met me in person yet, chances are, you'd think I don't stand too short. However, truth be told, I'm teeny-weeny standing at just 5'1 or about 155cm. And with this height, there will always be clothing pieces that I really want, but can't seem to rock.
One which I've always wanted to try but have been worried to, are midi skirts -- feminine a-line skirts, which length is not too long and not too short. Mid-length, to simply put it.
But as my shopping mantra goes, you can't dismiss it without trying it on first. So when I spotted this burgundy midi skirt at Forever21, I fitted it right away. Fitting's free, anyway!
And know what? I loved it! It channels a mature kind of femininity which I really dig. If I dismissed midi skirts without trying it first, then I wouldn't have known how I love its look on me! The same goes not just for fashion, but in other aspects of our lives. We shouldn't dismiss an idea, a thing, or a person, just because we have preconceived opinion about it.
The midi skirt's just the first step. There are a lot of clothing pieces and even makeup looks I've been hesitant to try, but secretly been dying to. Teehee! Let's see if I can finally sport a pair of cropped palazzo pants with red lipstick on this weekend. ヾ(*⌒ヮ⌒*)ã‚ž
How about you? Any clothing, makeup, food, activity or basically anything, that you were initially hesitant to try but ended up loving when you finally did?
Aaand... Let me greet you a Happy Friday, guys and dolls! Woohoo! (ノ´ãƒ®´)ノ*:・゚✧

It was drizzling when we shot these photos, so please excuse the water marks especially on my skirt. -__-" |

Such a lovely outfit and most definitely not doll like at all. You look very sophisticated and ready for a great outing!
ReplyDeleteSumi! You are really getting better at this. :) I love the entire outfit and this is something that I'd also wear for a corporate attire. My sister used to laugh at me and call me a manang or a nun whenever I wear midi skirts, but now that this kind of lengthy skirt has become a trend/hit, her view has changed as well. :)
ReplyDeleteI think you stepped up from girl to woman extremely well. The midi skirt suited you sweetly and it hid your actual height and instead from the photos made you seem much taller. Definitely a look to keep experimenting with.
ReplyDeletelove the sandals! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are soo cute, Sumi! I did not know that you are a fashionista! Fresh na fresh! I always remember you for your food posts.
ReplyDeleteNice! It looks very "almost a woman" :D
ReplyDeleteWe are of the same height! But the photos doesn't make you look short! It lengthens your leg actually. But I thought your hair colour doesn't really match your clothes! Just a personal opinion!
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit...but you're still go a long way in discovering what's best for you. Dressing up speaks your passion in life.

ReplyDeletei have been wanting to change my fashion style too as i am more of a jeans and shirt kind of lady. i am not really comfy wearing skirts except for special occasions. and by looking at the pics i thought you were taller around 5'4". i never thought that you are an inch higher than me..
