Maybelline White SuperFresh Review + Giveaway!

Ahh, summer! The season of sun, sand, sea, and sweat. And if you like prettifying yourself like I do, then I'm sure you know how summer can be a problematic season for wearing makeup.

With the scorching summer heat and higher humidity, I find myself leaning more towards powder foundations (though I LOVE using liquid foundies) this time of the year. And luckily, Maybelline has just recently introduced a new powder foundation that promises to keep our face fresh and matte for up to 12 hours with the new White SuperFresh.

The Product

Maybelline White SuperFresh No Touch-up Powder Foundation is a 12-hour mattifying cake foundation with Clean Touch Technology. It's enriched with Mineral Perlite which has 5x more absorption power than regular talc, keeping the skin looking matte, fair and fresh all day.

This powder foundation also has an SPF 34 PA+++ that leaves behind an ultra-smooth surface on the skin, while ensuring the skin has its well-needed long-lasting UV protection.

Nude Beige | Natural | Honey | Sand Beige

The Maybelline White SuperFresh comes in 4 different shades: 02 Nude Beige, 03 Natural, 04 Honey, and 05 Sand Beige. I got the Natural one which is a safe choice for many fair to light skin-toned Pinays.

It comes in a simple rounded-rectangular plastic packaging with a white cover and a glossy translucent body. Compared to L'Oreal's Mat Magique, the Maybelline White SuperFresh looks nicer and sleek, yet still casual. v(*‿*✿)

Inside the Maybelline White SuperFresh palette pops a decent-sized, roughly 3 by 2-inch mirror, along with 9g of product and a white rounded-square sponge.

The Fresh Test

When I received my Maybelline White SuperFresh for review, it came with a box so I can conduct a Fresh Test myself, comparing how Brand X will fare against the White SuperFresh.

Instruction: Spray water to Brand X and Maybelline White SuperFresh and see what happens.

After spritzing some water on Brand X, you can clearly see how the powder looks cakey. This just shows how regular powder foundations trap in sweat and sebum, leaving skin oily and dirty with unsightly cakey and cracking make-up. Hmm... Not a good look for summer!

And here's the result on Maybelline White SuperFresh. It's very evident how the spritzed water immediately dispersed, proving that this powder foundation is the choice if you want to have matte, flawless, fresh-feeling skin, especially with weather this hot.

The Verdict

Feels light-weight and non-comedogenic
Also protects with SPF 34 PA +++
Light to medium coverage perfect for daily wear
Mattifying with a fresh, velvety finish
Faintly smells clean and fresh
Keeps the face matte unretouched for 4-6 hours (for my super oily skin)
Does a really good job keeping the shine away (for normal-slightly oily skin)
Compact size is handy and sling bag-friendly
Very reasonably-priced at only P299 for 9g

✗ THE NOT-SO-GOOD
Did not keep my face as matte after 12 hours
Doesn't carry a lot of shades (caters to fair skintones)

Would I (re-)purchase?

Definitely! Apart from loving the sleek packaging, I like how this powder is perfect for hotter, more humid seasons. It feels light on the skin, and even when I oil up, I don't feel like the usual grease ball that I am. And just who wouldn't love its wallet-friendly price? ☆⌒（ゝ。∂）v

Overall, I find the Maybelline White SuperFresh a good mattifying powder, especially for its very competitive pricing. Although I can't say it kept me super matte for 12 hours, I can testify that it did kept my face feeling fresh and not as greasy as usual. My little sister who has less oily skin than me tried this powder too, and she swears by it! So go ahead and give this a try!
