L'Oreal Paris Miss Manga Instant Doll Lash Mascara Review
Call me a late bloomer, but I really haven't paid much attention to my lashes until recently. I guess you could blame it on my short, thin and stick-straight lashes that just won't curl up even when I put so much effort into beautifying them. Last year, I got to try getting eyelash extensions. And while I love how it looks on me, up-keep for regular wear isn't necessarily easy. And so, my quest for nicer lashes continues...
The easier way to pimp the lashes is by using mascaras. However, over the past few years, I've tried many brands but have yet to find one that keeps my lashes curled up. Which is why I just normally wear falsies whenever I want the look of fuller, prettier lashes. But with hairs not one's own, it can get too heavy for the eyes and can feel uncomfortable after a while.
Recently, I've come across a mascara from L'Oreal Paris that promises to pimp up even my stubborn, stick-straight lashes. And that's because it's specially-formulated for Asian lashes.
Most mascaras in the market today, in my opinion, are best suited for Caucasians, although there are also Asians who have found success in using them. But, for people with very Asian lashes like myself, these mascaras just don't do the job.
With the typical thin, shorter, stick-straight Asian lashes, a conic arched wand is said to be best suited. This catches all the short inner (and even bottom) lashes, and lifts them to give the hairs extra help to curl up and stay that way.
If you haven't noticed the title of this post yet, the mascara I'm talking about is the newly-launched L'Oreal Paris Miss Manga Instant Doll Lash Mascara. I believe it uses the same False Lash Waterproof formula, but comes with a new wand that better suits Asian lashes.
Miss Manga Mascara is said to hold up curls for up to 24 hours and is 12-hour sweat proof.
It comes in a nice glossy black and hot pink round casing with the name-side flat. And although I don't normally dig hot pink packaging, I just adore how girly yet still trendy and edgy the Miss Manga Instant Doll Lash Mascara looks and feels.
By the way, the name Miss Manga takes inspiration from manga or Japanese comics (which I love), where characters would usually sport beautiful sets of perfectly curled lashes. Just think of your favorite Sailor Moon characters and their lashes for instance! ヽ(。ゝω・)ノ☆
With L'Oreal Paris Miss Manga Instant Doll Lash Mascara's promise of curled and lifted lashes even for stubborn hairs like mine, I decided to put this product to the test.
Anyone can clearly see that my lashes are indeed lifted and curled up. Lengthened, even. It might have not wowed with an amazing voluminous result, but given my stubborn, stick-straight lashes, this is already a big improvement!
I wore the L'Oreal Paris Miss Manga Instant Doll Lash Mascara for a day out, about 8 hours, and it did hold up pretty well. Some parts on the outer corner may not be too lifted anymore, but most of the lashes are still curled. I didn't suffer from mascara smearing too, which I normally get from other brands, even waterproof formula mascara.
Would I (re-)purchase?
Oh yes! I'm a sucker for packaging and I simply adore the Miss Manga Mascara. But apart from the pretty casing, it really does keep its promise of curling and lifting even the stiffest, straightest Asian lashes. Love that it comes in a waterproof, sweat-proof and smudge-proof formula that's perfect for girls like me (with oily lids).
Overall, I find the L'Oreal Paris Miss Manga Instant Doll Lash Mascara a really good lash lifter for those like me who are born with thin and stubborn stick-straight lashes. The formula is very long-lasting which ensures your lashes are stay curled and lifted for hours! However, it may not be the mascara you're looking for if you want super dramatic lashes. Still, if you know you're in the market for this kind of mascara, then this is definitely a good buy! d(。ゝд・)
By the way, I want to share a good news if you didn't know yet. This month of May, L'Oreal Paris is offering a huge sale on most of its products! ☆*.・(*ゝ∀・*)ノ
The Great L'Oreal Sale will run from May 1 to 31, 2015 in all L'Oreal Paris counters and retail outlets nationwide. So, make sure to make the most out of it! (´ゝз・)─☆

DeleteI have VERY short lashes that are almost non existent and the only mascara that have worked for me has been Benefits. I might have to check out Loreal and see if there's one that will work for me.
ReplyDeleteMine are very short too, and I actually have non-existent bottom lashes! Haha! Haven't tried Benefit's yet, but I've been hearing good things about their mascaras. Which one do use, by the way, if you don't mind me asking? :)

ReplyDeleteGorgeous lashes! I'll tell my daughter about this doll lash mascara. She's got short lashes and is obsessed with finding a good mascara.
ReplyDeleteEyelashes are used for what? Naturally, eyelashes, short or long, straight or curly are to protect the eyes from dirt, fallen objects from getting hurt. But for the ladies, for the women they enhance them to beautify them so that their beauty may also be enhanced. That's what I think... Hhhmmm.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review, I agree that this mascara doesn't volume up the eyelashes. But it truly did a great job in making them curl up instantly!
ReplyDeleteOh...it's a girly-girly thing to have eyelashes extension. What other beauty products are looming nowadays? Different kinds of products for women alone. Let for men begins....

ReplyDeleteThis is a very interesting post about a beauty product because only now did I learn about the two different lashes. I've trying the lashes studio and it just irritated my eyes. Been jealous of friends who don't have problems having eyelash extensions. Now, that jealousy would be solved through this. Will definitely look for this asap. :)
ReplyDeleteThe Asian eyelash is my favorite. Looks like a worth product. Thank you for sharing
ReplyDeleteGosh! Thank you for this great review, my lashes are sooo straight that no mascara has ever worked to hold the curl for long, longest I've tried was about 5 minutes, no kidding. As of the moment, I'm wearing eyelash extensions, but they get too uncomfortable at times. I will have to try this out.
ReplyDeleteGreat! Good thing i read your review. I do have the same lashes like yours. And i will try this mascara if it will work on me. Thank you for sharing this info.
ReplyDeleteI've given up on mascaras coz they don't seem to do anything to my lashes, but will give this a try. Thanks :)
