OOTD: Fall in Summer
Summer in the Philippines is about to end. And before the rainy season takes over, let me just share with you another one of my summer-appropriate outfits. But this time, inspired by colors typically worn in fall.
Truth be told, I've always been fascinated with autumn. I just love how it seems to exude this sense of mystery. Though I haven't experienced it for myself yet (but I'm planning to do so soon), I just adore the color palette and style associated with it. Bold and slightly muted colors, with warm yet not too-bundled-up clothing. It's just my kind of style! 👗👜👠
However, since we weren't blessed with such a climate, let me just channel my take on the fall color palette -- worn of course in the hot and humid tropical Manila weather.
Blue, reds and black are such fun colors to combine. Not only do they complement each other, but they also add a classic vibe even to the most casual of outfits.
By the way, I wanted to add fringes to the kimono cover-up to give the whole outfit a more laid-back feel, but I sadly didn't get to buy fringe trimmings before I wore this ensemble. As I'm typing this blog post now though, I already have over a yard of black fringes. *sigh* If only I wasn't too excited to wear this outfit last weekend! (•﹏•๑)
Anyway, if you've seen my other OOTDs, can you see the improvement especially on this one?
My OOTDs are usually shot either by the boyf or my little sister. But for this post, I had help from my good friend, Berylle. Not only was the shoot fun, but I also loved her shots! Hihi! ٩(^ᴗ^)۶ Let's hope this won't be my first and last fun shoot with her. #SaUulitin ☆~(ゝ。∂)
Hope you enjoy the rest of May, everyone! Spread the good vibes! (*ゝω・)ノ♥♥♥ ・゚:*:゚

Love the outfit! Hard to believe you are coming out of Summer into Autumn (my fave time of the year!) and we are just about to hop into Summer... you would never have thought it with the rain outside...I was considering putting the heating on earlier!
ReplyDeleteBagay uli sa iyo Sumi. Looking forward about your rainy days posts. BTW, love your necklace.
ReplyDeleteVery tough outfit to pull off, especially those shorts with that type of waist design and length. Of course, you can pull it off effortlessly.
ReplyDeleteOh...how stunning of your fall-summer outlook with vibrant colors. By the way, from foodie to modelling...a great switch!
ReplyDeleteI'm so envious of girls who can wear those type of short shorts! I used to have the right body type for it. I want to see more of it in your pic, it's sort of hidden. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the high waisted shorts from Forever21, will look for one for me but in a different color (gone are the days I could sport those kind of shorts in public, my husband would burst an artery haha, pambahay for sure). I've been eying Kimono cover ups since last month but never pushed thru with the online purchases, maybe a plain solid colored one, hope I can pull of the look as well as you do. I love autumn colors too, in food haha. :)
ReplyDeleteThe kimono outerwear is really trending everywhere! Good look for a casual weekend date!
ReplyDeletelove the colour combination. those high waisted shorts are to die for
ReplyDeleteYou know how to combine colors well and I have to agree with you regarding the fringes. The kimono would have looked more laid back if it had fringes and would look a little boho. Hehe.
ReplyDeletethe autumn shades suit you pretty much! looking forward to more ootd shots by your good friend :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colours and Kimono looks lovely. These colours are really for the season and the way you are carrying the outfit is amazing.
ReplyDeleteNow I duck in shame. Why did I post my OOTD? I should get tips from you. Effortless and gorgeous, Sumi!
ReplyDeleteNice outfit. The fit is perfect and you look gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteYou look so gorgeous here Sumi. I love that you've been posting more outfit posts.
