Cedar Salon: Going blonder with Schwarzkopf Professional
When it comes to hair, some might call me a late bloomer as it wasn't until college that I started experimenting with color and hairstyles. However, although I jumped on the bandwagon a little late, I guess I've made up for the lost time since I've never held back when it comes to hair adventures. In just two years' time, I had my hair in a variety of colors -- dark brown, caramel, wine red with bleached tips, bright orange, faded orange, different shades of blonde, pink, and now the lightest blonde I've ever had.
So far, I've enjoyed pink the most, although being a not-so-good blogger, I haven't detailed the how-to on here yet. (Will make sure to do that soon!) But for now, let me share with you my latest hair adventure at Cedar Salon in Greenhills.
Cedar Salon along Wilson Street in San Juan, is a newly opened salon that promises to not only beautify the crowning glory of its clients, but also provide the perfect environment to unwind and relax. Each nook and cranny in the salon is designed with Asian zen elements reminiscent of spa resorts in Bali, so upon entering, clients can automatically feel transported to a serene world away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.
And that is exactly how it felt like going in to Cedar Salon. Albeit filled with guests when I came in, there's still that serene ambiance thanks to the interior design and warm ambient lighting.
But of course, a salon with a nice interior is only the tip of the iceberg. So now, let's talk about the services of Cedar Salon. Do they use quality products? Are their stylists skilled?
I don't claim to be knowledgeable with hair-styling and coloring products. But one thing I know is, Schwarzkopf Professional is one helluva brand! d(❁´‿`❁)*✲゚* And I'm sure glad that Cedar Salon doesn't only carry this brand as an option, but is also actively using it for most of their hair services.
Unlike the "me" of five years ago, the present "me" knows what she wants. So yup, I went in to Cedar Salon with a goal in mind -- to get rid of my fugly black regrowth, and get a haircut.
Back when I started going blonde, I was very diligent too keep up with my regrowth. However, it's been months since my last root touch-up, and I just couldn't find the time to do my roots. I also have hip-length hair going in, with a variety of shades -- some a little blonder than others, some more yellow, others more orange. And I wanted to finally get rid of it!
Other girls in the salon were wary of drastic haircuts. Some even opted for just a trim. Meanwhile, I still remember what I said to Sir Noel who was in charge with my haircut, "I want most of my hair chopped off." And he was game! He gave me an asymmetrical long bob!
It took two sessions of bleaching before the uneven blonde color on my hair got fixed, and to make the whole thing lift to the right shade of blonde. My hair was also toned with Schwarzkopf Igora in 12-9 (or 12-19?) to give it a cooler-toned look.
I couldn't have been happier! The haircut was easy to maintain and gave my hair the "oomph" it needed. And the color... This light blonde makes a statement wherever I go! If there's a con to it though, it's how I need to make sure I put some makeup on to complement my new blonder hair. If I don't, I'd look too washed out. (n˘v˘•)¬ But it's no biggie!
Thank you again to Sir Noel for my amazing cut, to Ms. Eva and Ate Rosalyn for the fabulous roots bleaching and hair color, and to the whole of Cedar Salon for fixing my DIY-ed blotchy hair and giving me my much-needed hair pampering. ꒰ღ˘‿˘à®±꒱⃛ The Schwarzkopf Smooth Perfect Shampoo and Conditioner helped my hair remain soft and smooth too even when using a purple shampoo. Thank YOU!!!
I just love the feeling of going out the salon looking a lot different than when I went in. It's a liberating and an empowering feeling. à§( ॑à´§ ॑)ਠAnd now, just weeks after, I already can't wait to go back and have another #MeTimeAtCedarSalon!
