Daily Quickie: Sandwich Baon with Lady's Choice
Bringing my own proper baon to the office or when I'm on fieldwork is something a bit new to me. When I'm pressed for time in the morning, which I usually am, I'd just grab my water bottle and a packet of biscuits and that's my breakfast and morning snack in one.
It somehow makes me regret not savoring my mom and tita-prepared baon back in the day. I need not do anything much when I was a kid since either my mom or aunt will be the ones waking up early to make me not just my breakfast, but also my lunchbox before going to school. And just like a lot of kids, I used to take it for granted.
It's a different story now that I'm a lot older though. Although my mornings are usually a blur, I'm taking it upon myself to prepare a proper breakfast and an even proper morning snack or emergency lunch (in case I'll have to eat my proper lunch a lot later in the day).
And I'm actually enjoying it!
The waking up earlier part, that I've yet to get used to. But the cooking and packing part, I really enjoy. I don't only attempt to make my food nutritious, but I also try to make them look nice. Even though yeah, I'm the only one eating it. But hey, doesn't good-looking food make the eating experience all the more enjoyable? v(*’-^*)-☆
It somehow inspires me too to make my not-so-little sister her baon when I'm able, and even a packed snack for the bf when we see each other. Not only is it helpful for their tummy, it's also a nice gesture -- something to make them feel I care for them (if they don't feel it yet).
Most of the time, I find myself reaching for Lady's Choice Spreads since they really make my food prepping easier. Apart from different spread flavors, there are also different ways to enjoy them -- not just plainly spread in between slices of breads.
When I'm pressed for time yet feeling a bit fancy, a bit of tomatoes and olives together with the Roast Beef Spread is the way to go. But if I have more than a few minutes to spare, making a Chicken BBQ and Cabbage Slaw Sandwich is definitely worth the extra effort.
Things have really taken a full circle here. Back in the day, my mom (or my aunt) would make me sandwiches for baon to school using Lady's Choice Spreads. And I can still remember my favorites -- the tuna, as well as the bacon variants. A whole decade (and more) after, it's me making not just myself but my loved ones sandwiches (wraps, slaws, and more) -- still using Lady's Choice Spreads, but with my new-found faves, Roast Beef and Chicken BBQ.
I think a decade or two from now, I'll be making my future children their baon as well. I may be getting ahead of myself here, but I'd love to be a mom who makes bomb lunchboxes, similar to intricate bentos. And I'm sure, even by then, I'd still have Lady's Choice Spreads by my side.
How about you? Have you tried any of these two new spreads from Lady's Choice? If you did, are you team #ChickenOrBeef?
As for me, I think you you can know my answer already. v(*’-^*)-☆
