Mrs. Fields Cafe: Perfect Pair Meals in SM Makati + Giveaway

If you love cookies and sweet baked treats, then you're probably very familiar with Mrs. Fields. You might've even downed a couple of their cookies, brownies or cookie cakes already, as this market leader among fresh-baked cookie stores has been churning out baked products for over thirty years. As such, just a mention of Mrs. Fields' goodies can already make me giddy. However, today, I'll be sharing about something even more exciting.

Mrs. Fields is no longer confined to kiosks!

The very first in the Philippines, Mrs. Fields has just recently opened its cafe at the second level of SM Makati. With this, fans of Mrs. Fields can enjoy not just their baked products, but also other offerings such as hot, cold and blended refreshments, sandwiches and other pastries. Not to mention, customers can now chill and have a leisurely meal, while taking advantage of the cafe's free Wi-Fi! （ゝ。∂）b Now, we're talking my language!

This new cafe of Mrs. Fields has surely sparked my excitement, as finally, there's an addition to the limited number of cafes (and seating) within the mall. But as if this wasn't enough, Mrs. Fields has also launched its Perfect Pair menu that offers patrons really good value.

Making up the Perfect Pair are combinations of sweet and savory treats. Choose among Mrs. Fields' sandwiches, waffles, paninis or sliders, with potato chips on the side, and pair it with your favorite Mrs. Fields cookie along with a refreshing cup of Twinings iced tea.

Perfect Pair

My friends, the bf and I all got to try some of the offerings on the Perfect Pair menu.

Garden Pesto Panini (P155 Ala Carte, P240 Meal)

First on the table was this garden pesto panini, which we all liked. Each bite really gives off that basil-icious pesto flavor that one either loves or hates. (I love it, btw!) There are also other panini variants -- pork, beef and cheese, and spiced ham and cheese.

✓ Roast Beef Sandwich (P165 Ala Carte, P250 Meal)

One of my favorites among the meals we had was this roast beef sandwich made from slices of whole wheat bread, lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes and pieces of savory beef. They didn't scrimp on the fillings, so this perfectly fits the snack-that-can-satisfy bill. From what I recall, my tablemates also seemed to have enjoyed this sandwich the most.

✓ Tuna Sandwich (P165 Ala Carte, P250 Meal)

Another variant I really dig is this tuna sandwich. I grew up eating tuna sandwiches sans the veggies, so I didn't expect to like this at all. (I'm prone to taste fatigue.) However, the addition of grape slices made every bite more refreshing. And now that I think about it, I can't even imagine enjoying tuna sandwiches any other way!

Peanut Butter and Banana Waffle (P185 Ala Carte, P270 Set)

I may have personally found the cookie from the Perfect Pair meal enough to satisfy my saccharine cravings. But for those with a sweet tooth who can't get enough, there's also the peanut butter and banana waffle served with chocolate sauce. Oh, and if you're into savory waffles, there's also a bacon and cheese waffle variant.

Although you can order any of these a la carte, I highly suggest you avail of the combo. It's named Perfect Pair for a reason, and I really think the added cookie and Twinings iced tea give the meal more value. And speaking of Twinings, I usually just enjoy their tea hot. However, Mrs. Fields has taught me to enjoy it cold through the Green Tea Lemon and Four Red Fruits Tea we had. ☆～（ゝ。∂）

New Sweet Treats

Apart from the Perfect Pair offerings, there are also new baked goodies we got to try.

Coco Medley Cookie, ✓ Chunky Macadamia Bacon Cookie,
Pesto Cookie Twist (P59 each)

I've always loved cookies, so I'm always on the lookout for unique flavors. And with this visit to Mrs. Fields cafe, I was happy to find new, adventurous cookie flavors to try. My most favorite would have to be the chunky macadamia bacon cookie as each bite oozes with earthy macadamia that highlights the salty bacon bits within. Seriously, try it!

Mini Muffins

Good news to muffin lovers! Mrs. Fields now carries mini versions, so you can try more variants at once. 'Cause hey, we all know how good and very filling regular-sized muffins are.

THE VERDICT

As much as I love restaurants, cafes are where my heart is. And I'm sure glad Mrs. Fields has finally opened a cafe concept that offers nice ambiance, free wi-fi, and meals of good value. And although I don't regularly find myself in SM Makati, I sure am going to pay returning visits to Mrs. Fields Cafe some time soon! I'm crossing my fingers that they open more Mrs. Fields cafe in other locations too. SM North EDSA or Trinoma next, please? o(*^▽^*)o
